This home was painted with COOLIT radiant barrier, fire retardant and termite resistant primer and paint. The home was treated with one coat of primer and two coats of paint on all interior walls, exterior walls, ceilings and attic spaces. All attic spaces were treated with two coats of COOLIT treated primer only. The objective of applying COOLIT radiant barrier paint was to reduce the overall utility consumption of the homes electricity and natural gas.

Six years after painting their home with COOLIT, this client wanted to install solar panels on his home. The solar audit was based on the past 12 months energy consumption from July 2014 through July 2015. Amazingly It was determined that the house only consumed 2,608 Kilowatt hours at a cost of $422.12 for the entire year. That equates to an average monthly bill of only $35.16. The solar audit showed that this house only required 6 solar panels (1.74KW) to zero out their monthly electricity bill. Neighbors within walking distance with similar sized homes required over 20 panels and spent tens of thousands of dollars to achieve the same result. This home owner found that simply painting your home with COOLIT is far less expensive than installing solar panels.
